Amycus | Centaur

Amycus Greek Mythology
Amykos (ancient Greek Ἄμυκος Ámykos, German 'der Zerfleischer', Latinized Amycus) is a figure of Greek mythology.

Amykos was a centaur, son of Ophion. He slew Keladon with a candlestick at the wedding of Peirithoos during the quarrel between the Lapiths and Centaurs, but was subsequently killed by Pelates.

The asteroid (55576) Amycus is named after Amykos.
